The next meeting of the Public Council under the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. The meeting included detailed discussions on supporting the implementation of state policy in the relevant field, ensuring public oversight and participation in the Great Return process, responding to citizens’ appeals, and other matters.
Anar Khalilov, Chairperson of the Public Council, provided information on the issues brought up for discussion. It was noted that, in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev and the Action Plan of the First State Program on the Great Return, the permanent resettlement of former internally displaced persons in restored and newly constructed settlements in the territories liberated from occupation is being successfully carried out.
Members of the Public Council actively participate in events related to the Great Return, engage with public opinion at all stages of the process, and hold meetings with citizens returning to their homelands. Interactive communication has been established between Council members and the heads of the State Committee’s structural divisions to ensure the prompt resolution of citizens’ appeals.
Such cooperation plays an important role not only in addressing issues related to the Great Return, but also in keeping all matters concerning internally displaced persons under constant attention and ensuring their timely resolution.
Rovshan Rzayev, Chairman of the State Committee, met with members of the Public Council and noted that effective cooperation with the Council is essential for further improving the Committee’s work and for fulfilling its responsibilities transparently and with broad public participation. He stated that the proposals and initiatives put forward by Council members are always given due consideration.
