In recent days, claims have been circulated on social media by Mazahir Valiyev, the brother of Rasim Papoy oglu Valiyev, an internally displaced person from Meshali village of the Khojaly district, alleging that the family had been provided with a one-room apartment instead of a three-room apartment in Badara village of the Khojaly district.


The State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan states that the investigation conducted into the matter has established that these claims are unfounded.


The investigation revealed that Rasim Papoy oglu Valiyev and his family members had previously been provided with residential accommodation in the Goranboy district. Subsequently, within the framework of the Great Return Programme, and taking into account that the family consists of five members, they were allocated a three-room apartment in Badara village of the Khojaly district in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements.


In connection with the matter, representatives of the State Committee conducted an on-site inspection of the apartment in question. The inspection confirmed that the apartment consists of three rooms and that the claims spread on social media do not reflect the facts.


The State Committee reiterates that, within the framework of the Great Return Programme, residential accommodation is allocated to citizens on the basis of family composition and the applicable regulatory requirements.
The Committee calls on media representatives and social media users to rely solely on official sources when disseminating information on such matters and to refrain from sharing unverified information.
