The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons held its next Board meeting.


Chairman of the State Committee Rovshan Rzayev noted that, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan continues on the path of comprehensive development and that the necessary steps are being taken to ensure peace and stability in the region. He emphasized that reconstruction and restoration works in the liberated territories are progressing rapidly and that former internally displaced persons are returning to their native lands with great enthusiasm.


It was also highlighted that the visits of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to the liberated territories, as well as their continuous oversight of the implementation of the Great Return initiatives, have inspired deep appreciation and gratitude among former internally displaced persons.


The Board meeting discussed a number of issues related to the implementation of the First State Programme on the Great Return, including the verification and preparation of relocation lists during the resettlement process; the activities carried out by the Commission; the collection of applications and the signing of protocols; the organization and implementation of the return to newly established and restored settlements in the liberated territories; the regulation and monitoring of the migration of residents relocated to these settlements; the provision of utility services to internally displaced persons; preparations for the autumn-winter season; the verification of beneficiary lists; the provision of the unified monthly allowance; the situation in the settlements under the balance of the Housing Maintenance Department; and other related matters. Reports by the heads of the relevant structural divisions were heard, and comments, opinions, and proposals were presented.


Chairman Rovshan Rzayev stressed the importance of carrying out the instructions of the country's leadership and fulfilling the assigned tasks with greater responsibility. He noted that the comprehensive measures identified for organizing the voluntary, safe, and dignified return of internally displaced persons to their native lands must be implemented consistently and in a timely manner.


Appropriate decisions were adopted on the issues discussed during the Board meeting, and relevant instructions were issued.
