Within the framework of the cooperation between the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzRCS), awareness activities on the dangers posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) were carried out in the Aghdam, Barda and Tartar districts, as well as in Sugovushan Village of the Aghdara District. The sessions, organized in schools and in a door-to-door format in areas where internally displaced persons are temporarily accommodated in compact settlements, primarily aimed to increase public awareness of the dangers posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance, promote safe behaviour practices, and minimize potential risks.

As part of the awareness activities, volunteers visited households and provided residents with detailed information on the dangers posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance, the identification of hazardous areas, the meaning of prohibition, warning and information signs, as well as the safety procedures to be followed when encountering dangerous situations, together with information on the relevant government institutions and contact channels.
