In accordance with the instructions of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the schedule of citizens' receptions held by the heads of central executive authorities and other governing bodies in cities and districts, Rovshan Rzayev, Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, held a citizens' reception in Oguz on 27 July.
The reception was attended mainly by former internally displaced persons residing in the Oghuz and Gabala districts. The citizens' appeals primarily concerned the Great Return, the allocation of special-purpose residential premises from the state housing fund, the repair of temporary accommodation, the assignment of the unified monthly allowance, employment, and other personal matters.
During the reception, citizens were once again reminded that improving the living conditions of former internally displaced persons and increasing their employment opportunities are among the priority areas of President Ilham Aliyev's social policy, and that First Vice-President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention and care to this category of citizens. It was noted that the most important task currently set by the Head of State is to accelerate their return to the liberated territories, their native lands, and to create safe and dignified living conditions there.
The participants were informed that the Great Return process is continuing successfully and is being implemented in phases, with priority being given to the relocation of those living in the most difficult conditions in temporary accommodation facilities. During the reception, some of the issues raised by the citizens were resolved on the spot. It was also stated that the remaining issues highlighted in the appeals would be examined in a short period of time and, where appropriate, forwarded to the relevant state authorities.
