A mine risk awareness session entitled "Risk Awareness and Safe Behaviour" was held in Baharli Settlement, Aghdam District, focusing on the dangers posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO).

The sessions were conducted in a "door-to-door" format by volunteers from the "Aghdam District Branch of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzRCS)" in areas where former internally displaced persons are temporarily accommodated. The initiative aimed to increase public awareness of the risks associated with landmines and unexploded ordnance, promote safe behaviour, and contribute to the prevention of potential accidents.

During home visits, the volunteers provided residents with detailed information on the dangers of landmines and UXO, how to identify hazardous areas, the meaning of prohibition, warning, and information signs, as well as the appropriate safety measures to follow when encountering suspicious objects. They also informed residents about the relevant state authorities to contact in case of danger, distributed informational brochures, and answered questions from community members.

Residents highly appreciated the awareness sessions, noting that such initiatives play an important role in strengthening public knowledge of mine safety and promoting safer behaviour.

The awareness sessions were organized within the framework of cooperation between the "State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and the "Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society".
