A meeting was held with young volunteers working at the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs on the occasion of the 5th of December - International Volunteer Day.
Chairman of the State Committee Rovshan Rzayev received the volunteers and stated that volunteering in our country is derived from our national values, and it is is one of the important directions of the state youth policy, founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully being continued by the President Ilham Aliyev. It was emphasized that young people who volunteer in such sensitive area as work with refugees and IDPs both see how the state care is provided to people with special need for social protection and contribute to more effective organization of this process.
It was also noted that volunteering, which has a relevant legislative base, allows every young person to express themselves, get experience for future career and make new friends. During the two-month volunteering activity, they performed specific tasks in the structural units of the committee, got closely acquainted with characteristic features of the civil service, improved their knowledge and gained experience on work with refugees and IDPs.
R.Rzayev added that along with addressing the social problems of IDPs is a priority, the main goal and objective today is to return our displaced compatriots back to their native lands – Karabakh. Everything being done on this path is the next step towards victory. We would like to thank those who helped us along the way, especially the young people who voluntarily worked at the relevant departments of the State Committee and wish them success in their future activities and educational careers.
Chairman of the State Committee highly appreciated the activities of young volunteers: “Our volunteers were distinguished with their great activities at our event “One day in Karabakh” held for IDPs in Shamakhi. I thank them. We also positively appreciate the activities of volunteers working in certain departments of the Committee for some time. Volunteers play a positive role not only in our Committee, but also in presenting Azerbaijan at international events.”
Volunteers working with specialists in various departments of the State Committee, gaining experience in this field expressed their gratitude for the opportunity.
Later, the Chairman of the State Committee presented certificates to another group of young people who completed their two-month volunteer activity. At the end they took a souvenir photo.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee Fuad Huseynov, Head of the Office Eldar Zeynalov, Head of Human Resources Department Habib Huseynov, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper “Veten Sesi” Elshan Aliyev and other members of the Committee also attended the event.
