Medical charity campaign for internally displaced children and adults was conducted under the slogan “Children’s hearts beat in Karabakh!” at Guzanli settlement, Aghdam region which was organized by Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons and with the support of the Executive Power of Aghdam Region.
The staff consisting of 20 medical personnel of the Central Hospital of Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee was on a business trip to Aghdam within the framework of the campaign that started on November 1 and continued for two days. Highly qualified physicians examine internally displaced patients at the Mobile Onsite hospital of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee fully equipped with modern medical equipment and at the Central Hospital of Aghdam Region. About 250 internally displaced persons were involved in the examination.
The chief of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, Jeyhun Mammadov, stated that medical institutions with higher diagnostic opportunities and staff potential conducting charity campaigns regularly at regions is a great example for President Ilham Aliyev’s social policy. Protection of the health of population in Azerbaijan is one of priority directions of the state’s social policy. For this purpose, the health system is improved and developed and various measures are taken for the provision of high quality medical services for citizens. Each year the population of the republic are involved in comprehensive medical examination at the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev. The first vice – president, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva and Heydar Aliyev Foundation headed by her render very great services in the examination and treatment of persons in need of social protection.
Jeyhun Mammadov, stating that children and adults were examined by the highly qualified physicians of the Central Customs Committee in Astara, Jojug Marjanli settlement, Jabrayil region and Horadiz city, Fuzuli region by the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee in the current year, mentioned that in general, about 600 persons were passed diagnostic medical examination in these charity campaigns.
Chief of Scientific, Practical and Teaching Center of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, cardiovascular surgeon, MP of Milli Majlis, MD, Rashad Mahmudov, emphasizing the importance of early detection and treatment of cardiac diseases among children living in regions, stated that highly qualified physicians of the Central Customs Hospital conduct regular examinations of the people living in regions based on the highest technologies in order to support their provision with necessary medical services. He stated that this project implemented in the framework of “Strategy for 2015 – 2020 on the fight with non – infectious diseases in the Republic of Azerbaijan” approved by the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic is of great importance. Today cardiovascular diseases revealed on time and their elimination mean to present health to hundreds of persons. 7 children whom complex cardiac defects were identified found their health by surgical operation at the Central Customs Hospital with the support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The advisor of the chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons taking part in the medical campaign, Nasimi Narimanov, stated that at the initiative of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, medical examinations and blood donation campaigns were carried out at internally displaced persons’ settlements in Baku, Ganja, Shaki, Mingachevir, Naftalan, Barda and other regions so far. Highly qualified physician staff of private and state hospitals operating in the republic were involved in medical examination. In addition, the first medical assistance trainings were conducted for internally displaced persons in the presence of local state bodies and international organizations.
It should be noted that professional medical advices were given to the parents of children whom health problems were identified through ECO, USM, ECG and other medical equipment in the examinations conducted by the physicians of the Central Customs Hospital and relevant treatments were assigned. The purpose of medical campaign was to create opportunity for diagnostic medical examination of children living in Aghdam based on the highest technologies, as well as, use of the highest health services by internally displaced persons at the territory where they live in.
